Jinta Yadomi lives in peace as a recluse, spending his days away from school, and then playing video games at home. His childhood friend, Meiko "Menma" Honma, emerges on a hot summer day and pesters him to grant him a wish that was forgotten. He doesn't give her any attention that annoys her, but he doesn't really care. Menma's already died years ago, after all.At first, Jinta thinks he's only hallucinating because of the summer sun, but later on he's persuaded that Menma's ghost is what he really sees. After her untimely death, Jinta and his group of childhood friends grew apart, but they are again drawn together as they seek to lay down Menma's spirit of rest.
Would they be able to relive their pain and remorse and find the courage to help not only Menma move on, but also themselves?.

ๅนณๅใในใฟใผใบ, Chล Heiwa Basutฤzu ), a group of artists consisting of the director Tatsuyuki Nagai, screenwriter Mari Okada, and character designer Masayoshi Tanaka. The anime was created by A-1 Pictures, and aired between April and June 2011 in the noitamina block of Fuji TV. In North America it is currently approved by Aniplex of America.
From March to July 2011, a novelization by Mari Okada was serialized in the magazine Da Vinci of Media Factory.
In the May 2012 issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine a manga adaptation drawn by Mitsu Izumi began serialization. A 5pb visual novel adaptation was released to the PlayStation Portable.
