Having recovered from a shoulder injury, timid first-year university student Haruki Bandou is able to take the chance to give up judo, unable to find happiness in the sport irrespective of a dojo run by his father. Nevertheless, he did not expect his best friend, Kazuma Hashimoto, to agree at the same time to quit their judo club at university. Kazuma already has plans for a modern and groundbreaking practice amid Haruki's protests: a cheerleading squad made up of only people. Though reluctant to do so, Haruki ends up helping his friend set up the team.
By sheer dedication, and with the help of their newly formed club members, Haruki and Kazuma succeed in forming the Breakers, Meishiin University's first ever all-male cheerleading squad, slowly making history amid the feminine tag attached to cheerleading sport and the stereotypes, physical obstacles, and self-doubts that inevitably follow.
