Argument
Despite the passage of a whole year since the inception of the Iwatobi High School Swim Club, not a single new member has graced its ranks. The onus now falls on Haruka Nanase and Makoto Tachibana, both senior students, to devise a strategy that would allure fresh blood. Failure to do so would spell the demise of the club next year, doomed by a shortage of membership. Amidst the impending graduation, these senior boys find themselves at the crucial crossroads of their lives. Unlike their peer, Rin Matsuoka, the ambitious captain of Samezuka Academy Swim Club, who doggedly pursues his dream of becoming a professional swimmer, Haruka and Makoto remain indecisive about their desired career paths. As if matters weren't complicated enough, the advent of Sousuke Yamazaki, an old acquaintance of Rin's, significantly alters the dynamics among him, Rin, and Haruka. Sousuke, a recently scouted swimmer who now enrolls in Samezuka Academy, infuses an air of tension into their once harmonious relationship.
