Argument

Welcome to the vibrant and bustling streets of 1969 Tokyo, where technology, science, and industry intertwine to create a thrilling era. But beware, dear readers, for there is a clandestine threat lurking in the shadows. Mysterious and enigmatic, these "Invaders" have infiltrated society, their true intentions shrouded in secrecy. Unbeknownst to the average city dweller, a covert organization known as AEGIS stands as the last line of defense against these otherworldly intruders. But the task of vanquishing these formidable foes falls solely on those with the extraordinary ability to unveil the hidden "Gates" connecting our world to theirs. This is where the valiant Gate Keepers come into play. Within the ranks of AEGIS lies a specialized group of gifted individuals, each possessing a unique Gate-related power. United in purpose, they are humanity's best hope for survival in the face of the relentless Invaders plaguing our planet. Amongst the chaos, we meet Shun Ukiya, an ordinary student leading a humble life with his widowed mother and beloved younger sister. Little does he know that his seemingly normal existence is about to be thrust into the heart of the battle. When fate places him in the path of a group of Invaders targeting his own doorstep, Shun's world turns upside down. In a desperate bid to protect his family, he awakens to a stunning revelation—the dormant power within him to open a Gate and harness unimaginable energy. His newfound ability does not go unnoticed, capturing the attention of AEGIS and, in particular, his childhood friend and fellow Gate Keeper, Ruriko Ikusawa. As they cross paths once more, their destinies become intertwined in a struggle against the encroaching darkness, as they face off against the Invaders threatening humanity's very existence.
