Argument
Yurie Hitotsubashi, an ordinary middle school student residing in the picturesque city of Onomichi on Japan's tranquil inland sea, found herself swept away by an extraordinary turn of events in the carefree 1980s. Amidst the rigors of exam stresses and her unrequited affection for Kenji, a blissfully unaware classmate, a stunning revelation dawned upon Yurie one sunny afternoon during lunch: she had become a goddess overnight. Embracing the newfound celestial powers bestowed upon her, Yurie eagerly shared this incredible news with her friend Mitsue. However, the ambitious Matsuri, another classmate, seized this divine opportunity with fervor. In an attempt to revive her family's floundering Shinto shrine, she cunningly manipulated Yurie's godly status to prop and promote their ailing sanctuary. Her goal? To dethrone the hapless deity Yashima-sama by replacing him with none other than Yurie. Matsuri believed that this bold move would attract popularity, prosperity, and devout worshippers to the shrine's hallowed grounds. Juggling the responsibilities of bestowing wishes, vanquishing curses, encountering extraterrestrial beings, and attending celestial conferences, Yurie, now under the astute managerial guidance of Matsuri, ventured into a realm where mortals and gods converged. All the while, she struggled with the mundane tasks of school life and summoning the courage within to confess her true feelings to Kenji.
