Argument

From early childhood, Moritaka Mashiro harbored an all-consuming desire to become a mangaka, inspired by none other than his beloved uncle, Tarou Kawaguchi, the genius behind a renowned gag manga. However, tragedy struck, dimming Moritaka's dreams and diverting his focus towards the pursuit of a conventional salaryman career during his formative middle school years. But fate had other plans in store. Enter Akito Takagi, a brilliant student in Moritaka's class, brimming with literary aspirations. A perceptive individual, Akito caught a glimpse of Moritaka's adorned notebook brimming with intricate sketches. Glimpsing the untapped potential of his artistic prowess, Akito seized the opportunity and proposed a daring alliance – the two would collaborate as mangaka. After much persuasion and soul-searching, Moritaka succumbed to the irrefutable truth that venturing into the realm of manga creation could hold the key to not only achieving his lifelong ambition, but also winning the heart of his beloved crush, Miho Azuki. Imagining the possibility of Miho lending her voice to the animated adaptation of their work, the dynamic duo embraced the shared pseudonym Muto Ashirogi. Their aim? Nothing short of surpassing all predecessors and securing their place as the greatest mangaka Japan has ever witnessed.

About

Bakuman., a captivating anime series, had once secured the licensing rights from Media Blasters in North America. Regrettably, the release journey was far from seamless, as only a mere 2-disc DVD set, housing the initial 7 episodes, saw the light of day. Subsequent releases, sadly, met an unfortunate fate and were ultimately canceled, leaving avid fans yearning for more of this enthralling tale.
