Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji, three individuals fated to meet, found themselves united by an extraordinary occurrence during an otherwise ordinary field trip to Tokyo Tower. Enveloped in a dazzling burst of light, they were captivated by an enigmatic woman's desperate plea to rescue the realm of "Cephiro." Swiftly carried away on the back of a colossal flying fish, their adventure truly began. Emerging in an unfamiliar world, our heroines met a figure known as Master Mage Clef. Unveiling a remarkable truth, Clef revealed that they had been summoned by Princess Emeraude to fulfill their destiny as the legendary Magic Knights, entrusted with the task of restoring stability and harmony to the troubled land of Cephiro. For it was High Priest Zagato who, through treacherous deeds, had imprisoned the very essence of Cephiro's peace—the Princess herself. Initially hesitant yet compelled by their noble hearts, the Magic Knights begrudgingly embraced Clef's words, acknowledging the weight of their chosen path. United in purpose, they embarked upon a perilous journey to save Cephiro from the clutches of malevolence, determined to restore balance and reclaim the realm's former vibrance.

About

Incorporating an array of captivating scenes, the inaugural season of Magic Knight Rayearth flawlessly mirrors the initial narrative arc depicted in its manga counterpart. However, it gracefully incorporates a handful of delightful embellishments, introducing the anime-exclusive character, Inouva, to its vibrant storyline. Distinguished for its captivating melodies and harmonious composition, the opening theme song of Magic Knight Rayearth, titled "Yuzurenai Negai," triumphantly clinched the esteemed accolade for "Best Theme Song" at the prestigious Animation Kobe Awards in 1996.
