Argument

On a scorching summer day, the date of August 14th to be exact, something extraordinary occurred in the life of Shintarou Kisaragi. For the first time in two long years, he found himself reluctantly stepping foot outside his sanctuary. Engaged in a heated quarrel with Ene, a digital companion residing within his computer, fate dealt him an unfortunate hand. A careless mishap caused a cascade of soda to drench his precious keyboard, leaving him with no other choice but to hastily search for a replacement. Alas, luck was not on his side as most stores were closed due to the grand Obon festival celebrations. Thus, begrudgingly, Shintarou and Ene embarked on a journey to the local department store. The mere thought of venturing beyond the confines of his secure dwelling sent shivers down Shintarou's spine, his anxiety heightened to insurmountable levels. Yet, faced with the prospect of a life without his trusted computer, he had no other recourse. However, little did he know that this seemingly mundane outing would thrust him right into the heart of a perilous hostage situation. An unexpected stroke of fortune was bestowed upon him as a group of enigmatic teenagers, boasting extraordinary ocular powers, swooped in to rescue him. They were the renowned "Mekakushi Dan." Inexplicably drawn into their midst, Shintarou and Ene were compelled to join forces with this clandestine collective. Each member possessed a unique ability, like scattered fragments to an intricate puzzle, and as the layers of their complicated pasts began to unravel, a profound secret that intertwined their destinies gradually emerged from the depths of obscurity.
