In an unexpected turn of events, Nichijou, the beloved anime series, found itself caught in a licensing whirlwind. Initially licensed by Bandai Entertainment, fans were eagerly anticipating its North American release. However, to the dismay of many, on January 2, 2012, Bandai Entertainment announced their departure from the anime market, abruptly halting the release of all unreleased titles, including Nichijou. For years, fans of this quirky and hilarious series were left in a state of limbo, as Nichijou remained unlicensed. Finally, on November 4, 2016, a glimmer of hope emerged when Funimation Entertainment stepped in to rescue the beloved anime. The series was acquired by Funimation and, after much anticipation, it was released in a stunning Blu-ray & DVD combo pack on February 7, 2017. But that's not all! A wave of excitement engulfed fans once again when Funimation decided to go the extra mile with Nichijou. They not only released a sub-only version but also treated the audience to a splendid Blu-ray & Digital combo pack featuring a brand-new English dub.
