Argument

Ryouko Ookami, a feisty tomboy with a knack for boxing, holds the prestigious title of the "bruiser" in her high school club. But this isn't your ordinary club - think of it more like a functioning bank. Meet the Otogi Bank, where students can request favors with the understanding that they must repay the favor in the future. Enter Ryoushi Morino, a timid sixteen-year-old student who couldn't be more different from the fearless Otogi Bank members. In a twist of fate, Ryoushi finds himself unexpectedly joining the club after a failed attempt to confess his feelings to Ryouko. Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi chronicles the extraordinary daily lives of the Otogi Bank members as they navigate through a range of favors, from the mundane to the perilous. However, Ryoushi's primary motivation lies in winning over Ryouko, making her skeptical of his ability to support her in a brawl, especially considering his aversion to being noticed, let alone engaging in combat.

About

The anime series takes great delight in playfully parodying well-known fairy tales, elevating its storytelling to a whole new level. The two central heroines, Akai and Ookami, cleverly allude to the timeless tale of Little Red Riding Hood. Akai, meaning red, and Ookami, meaning wolf, add a delightful twist to the traditional narrative. Moreover, the anime's title itself, "Wolf and the Seven Companions," serves as a delightful play on the classic tale of "Snow White." Delving deeper into the charming wordplay, Ringo, meaning apple, and Ryouko, meaning hero, add an extra layer of punny brilliance to their names. As the story unfolds, expect further enchantment as the series deftly incorporates parodies of other beloved fairy tales, such as "Cinderella" and "The Ant and the Grasshopper." Indulge in the whimsy and relish the creative twists this exceptional anime brings to the world of folklore.
