Argument
Inaba town has fallen victim to a string of heinous serial murders, leaving the local authorities baffled and the community in fear. Seizing the opportunity presented by his parents' overseas occupation, Yuu Narukami relocates to this quaint town, where he will be living with his uncle for a year. As destiny would have it, he enrolls at Yasogami High School, a pivotal turning point. It is within the walls of this institution that Yuu crosses paths with Yousuke Hanamura, Chie Satonaka, and Yukiko Amagi. The budding friendship quickly evolves as the group shares a bone-chilling tale known as the "Midnight Channel" – a renowned urban legend whispered among the locals. This enigmatic channel is said to manifest only during the witching hour on rainy days, exclusively appearing to solitary viewers. Intrigued by this tantalizing rumor, Yuu resolves to investigate further and tunes in to the Midnight Channel one fateful night. To his disbelief, rather than a mere stroke of superstition, he witnesses a haunting revelation: the apparition of the next hapless victim targeted by the serial murderer. Unbeknownst to him, this unnerving encounter is but a precursor to an extraordinary sequence of events about to unfold. Inexplicably drawn into the depths of the TV screen, Yuu finds himself thrust into an alternate realm concealed by a thick, impenetrable fog. A treacherous domain bustling with menacing entities known as "Shadows," where reality blurs with the surreal. The gravity of the situation dawns on Yuu and he realizes that this twisted dimension holds the key to unraveling the sinister mysteries behind the gruesome murders. Against all odds, a camaraderie forged through shared destiny emerges. The Investigation Team, they call themselves, as they embark on an arduous quest to untangle the veil of secrecy suffocating Inaba. Determined, resolute, they strive to expose the malevolent forces orchestrating these spree of killings and restore peace to their beleaguered town.
