Argument

At the young age of eighteen, Tsukasa Mizugaki finds himself at a crossroads after failing his college entrance exams. However, fate smiles upon him as he secures a highly sought-after position at the esteemed Sion Artificial Intelligence Corporation. This prestigious company is renowned for crafting the most astonishing androids called "Giftias" that are nearly indistinguishable from real humans. Yet, unlike their creators, these remarkable beings possess a limited lifespan of merely 81,920 hours, equating to a mere nine years and four months or so. Tsukasa is assigned to Terminal Service One, an elite division responsible for retrieving and overseeing Giftias whose time on Earth is nearing its end. Once a Giftia's clock ticks past its expiry date, they tragically lose their cherished memories and morph into menacing beasts. As Tsukasa embarks on his new role, he is teamed up with the captivating and experienced Giftia named Isla. Despite her delicate appearance and tranquil demeanor, she boasts an exemplary track record in Giftia retrievals. Yet, time is mercilessly slipping away, leaving Tsukasa grappling with his growing affection for Isla before her fleeting moments dwindle to nothingness. For in this world, even the most fervent desires succumb to the inexorable passage of time, reminding us that nothing remains eternal.
