Argument
Uzuki Shimamura, a determined and ambitious student, possesses an unwavering passion for becoming an idol. Despite facing a setback during her initial audition, her tenacity catches the attention of a distinguished producer from 346 Productions. In an exhilarating turn of events, Uzuki finds herself chosen to be part of the illustrious "Cinderella Project," a visionary idol group in the making. However, this ambitious endeavor is lacking two crucial members, prompting the producer to embark on a talent search like no other. As fate would have it, the producer's keen eyes land upon Rin Shibuya, embroiled in a tumultuous encounter with an incensed crowd. Unhesitatingly stepping in to save the day, the intrepid producer finds himself caught up in a perplexing situation, leading to an unexpected encounter with the law. Yet, this serendipitous moment becomes the catalyst for a new opportunity. Undeterred, the producer extends an invitation to Rin to join the ranks of the Cinderella Project, only to be met with a resolute refusal. The original plan for The iDOLM@STER anime was an ambitious one, envisioned as a seamless two-cour series. However, due to unforeseen production issues, the show had to end prematurely with only 13 episodes. As a result, re-airings of the original series occupied the remaining time slots. Nevertheless, fans can rejoice as the eagerly awaited second season, which had originally been intended as the second cour, finally premiered on July 18, 2015.
