Argument
Take a look at the argument of Angel Beats! Song Lyrics:
Otonashi only awakens to discover that he's gone. A rifle-toting girl named Yuri explains they are in the afterlife and Otonashi discovers that his name is the only thing he can recall about himself. Yuri informs him she is leading the Shinda Sekai Sensen (Afterlife Battlefront) and declaring war on a girl named Tenshi. Unable to believe Yuri's argument that Tenshi is evil, Otonashi tries to speak to her but the experience doesn't go as he expects.
Otonashi wants to join the SSS and fight Tenshi but he finds himself oddly drawn to her. He slowly unravels the mysteries of the afterlife while attempting to restore his memories and understand Tenshi.
