Space☆Dandy brings together a remarkable team of talented individuals who were at the forefront of creating the beloved anime series Cowboy Bebop. Spearheaded by producer extraordinaire Masahiko Minami and visionary director Shinichiro Watanabe, this cosmic adventure involves an impressive collaboration of 70 animation creators and 20 musical artists. Watanabe, being the maestro behind it all, demanded that the musical styles used be limited to those predating 1984, adding a captivating vintage touch to the series. Remarkably, character designer Yoshiyuki Itou, although credited as an animation director, allowed a refreshing departure from standardized designs, granting individual animators the freedom to express their unique artistic styles. In North America, the series was masterfully licensed by Funimation, renowned for their exceptional taste in anime selection. Initially, due to licensing complexities, the electrifying instrumental track Cosmic Adventure, performed by the sensational jazz band Mountain Mocha Kilimanjaro, boldly opened the show.
