Argument
Haruka Nanase possesses an indomitable affinity for water, driven by an unquenchable passion for the art of swimming. During his tender elementary school days, he teamed up with his extraordinary comrades Rin Matsuoka, Nagisa Hazuki, and Makoto Tachibana to emerge triumphant in a thrilling relay race. However, as time elapsed, their harmonious bonds were fractured, scattering them apart. The extraordinary twist of fate reassembles the quartet in their high school years, unveiling a tale replete with gripping rivalries and resolute bonds. Rin, harboring an ardent desire to assert his aquatic mastery above all, finds himself utterly apathetic towards their reconnection. Determined to revive their shared love for swimming, they forge an alliance, giving birth to the illustrious Iwatobi High School Swim Club. Yet, their quest for glory hinges upon recruiting a fourth member, an indispensable cog in their competitive machine. And thus, enters the spirited Rei Ryuugazaki, a formerly dedicated member of the track team, persuaded by Nagisa's eloquent persuasion to embrace the realm of swimming. As the fervor to excel in the imminent tournament envelops them, the group becomes more than mere teammates. A profound camaraderie begins to weave them together, fostered through rigorous training, unyielding determination, and unwavering support.
