Argument

In a nerve-racking escape from an immense Gauna threat, Captain Kobayashi of the interstellar vessel Sidonia witnessed the devastating loss of countless lives. This tragic event has propelled her into a radical shift of political perspective. Determined to bring the Lem system, where a newly established human colony exists, to complete safety, Kobayashi assumes absolute authority with an unwavering resolve to annihilate the Gaunas once and for all. The foundation of her ambition rests on two remarkable breakthroughs: the advancement of highly efficient, long-range anti-Gauna weaponry, and the creation of Tsumugi Shiraui, a hybrid being possessing an unprecedented and destructive power that comes from being both human and Gauna.   Amidst the tension surrounding this uncharted military campaign and the prevalent prejudices against chimeras, Kobayashi seeks the support of the elite pilot Nagate Tanikaze. Tanikaze, whose personal encounters with Shizuka Hoshijiro and the enigmatic Benisuzume left enduring impressions, strikes a deep and profound connection with Tsumugi.
