Argument

In the year 1989, a monumental event unfolded in Japan that forever altered the landscape of media and ignited a fierce battle for freedom of expression. With the passage of the Media Betterment Act, the Japanese government bestowed a group of soldiers known as the Media Betterment Committee (MBC) with unprecedented power to censor and annihilate any media found "problematic" in the eyes of public morals. In response, regional authorities rallied together to establish an unbending force known as the Library Defense Force (LDF), whose valiant guardians would lay their lives on the line to safeguard the essence of liberty. Leading the charge in the Kanto region is the elite League of Champions, better known as the illustrious Library Task Force (LTF) - an extraordinary squadron comprised only of the most exceptional warriors. It is within this formidable organization that our story takes root. Embarking on this journey, we encounter a spirited young woman named Iku Kasahara, once a high school student who experienced the harrowing consequences of censorship firsthand. Unyielding in her principles, Kasahara fiercely resisted relinquishing the latest volume of her beloved series to the relentless MBC agents. In a critical moment of peril, salvation appeared in the form of a solitary member of the LDF, protecting both Kasahara and her cherished book. Forever captivated by the courageous hero who rescued her, she now stands at the threshold of adulthood, her heart yearning to find her prince amidst the ranks of the LDF. However, Kasahara soon discovers that the path towards her aspirations is strewn with daunting challenges. LDF training unveils a realm of hardships far beyond her imaginings, and her instructor, the tenacious Atsushi Doujou, seems unwavering in his determination to make her life exceptionally arduous. Yet, amidst the relentless trials, Kasahara is astounded when Doujou's recommendation places her in an elite group of two newly appointed recruits for the heralded LTF. Motivated to prove herself worthy of this esteemed position and unravel the enigmatic depths of her superior's intentions, Kasahara becomes embroiled in an escalating war - a war fought not only on battlefields but also within the intricate complexities of her own personal life.
