Argument

Step into the enchanting realm of young witches, where the illustrious sorceress known as Shiny Chariot reigns supreme as an international icon. However, as the girls mature, their perception of this magical luminary begins to wane, instantly branding any witch who mentions her as childish. Undeterred by the withering opinions, an ordinary girl by the name of Atsuko Kagari takes an audacious leap and enrolls in the prestigious Luna Nova Magical Academy. Her ambitions soar high with the dream of emulating Chariot's mesmerizing prowess. Yet, beneath the surface of this seemingly ethereal institution, Atsuko quickly discovers that the academy is far from a paradise of fun and games. Mundane lectures, stern faculty, and fellow students who deride the very name of Chariot plague the hallowed halls. Furthermore, her own feeble grasp of magic only serves to cement her reputation as a rebellious misfit. However, destiny presents an opportunity for Atsuko to prove her mettle when a calamitous dragon threatens to raze the entire academy to the ground. It falls upon her shoulders to stave off this rampaging menace and earn the respect of her peers and mentors.

About

Little Witch Academia is a dazzling gem among the anime works that have been fortunate enough to receive a generous infusion of 38 million yen (approximately US$480,000) from the prestigious "2012 Young Animator Training Project." Just as its predecessors in 2010 and 2011, this remarkable initiative by the animation labor group received a whopping 214.5 million yen (US$2.65 million) from the esteemed Agency for Cultural Affairs in Japan. These substantial funds are subsequently allocated to studios committed to nurturing young animators by providing them with invaluable on-the-job training. The overwhelming success and widespread acclaim bestowed upon this enchanting film prompted Studio Trigger to embark on an ambitious Kickstarter campaign, seeking financial support for a highly anticipated sequel. Astonishingly, the target was not only met but exceeded, eliciting an overwhelmingly positive response from eager fans and potential backers alike.
