About

Kagami Yoshimizu's Lucky Star (Japanese:, Hepburn: Raki Suta) is a Japanese four-panel comic strip manga series. Since December 2003, it has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Comptiq magazine. Other magazines, such as Shnen Ace and others, published cameo strips. It usually has no ongoing plot and focuses on the characters' daily lives. In August 2005, a drama CD based on the series was released, and the series spawned four video games between 2005 and 2009. Kyoto Animation produced a 24-episode anime adaptation, which aired between April 8 and September 16, 2007. Kadokawa Pictures licensed the anime in North America, and Bandai Entertainment distributed it; six DVDs were released between May 2008 and March 2009. On September 26, 2008, an original video animation (OVA) episode was released, along with a drama CD. On August 4, 2009, Bandai Entertainment released the OVA in an English-subtitled version. Funimation is currently in charge of the anime's distribution. In 2014, Viz Media acquired the digital publishing rights to the manga. Miyakawa-ke no Kfuku, a spin-off manga, began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Comp H magazine in January 2008. In April 2013, Ordet and Encourage Films debuted an anime adaptation on Ustream.
