In the waning years of the 19th century, amidst the turbulent Bakumatsu era, Japan witnessed a remarkable transformation in the form of the Meiji restoration. Fast forward to the present, wherein a nondescript wanderer by the name of Kenshin Himura crosses paths with Kaoru Kamiya, the proprietor of a struggling dojo in the heart of Tokyo. Plagued by an imposter claiming the illustrious title of Battousai, who mercilessly slaughters innocent civilians and law enforcement officers, Kaoru desperately seeks a solution.
