Argument
Yumeji Fujiwara, a high school student with a unique gift, possesses the extraordinary ability to perceive the dreams of others. Through his keen sense of aura, he can foresee these visions, although they often remain hazy and elusive. While Yumeji enjoys using this skill to play harmless pranks on his classmates, he himself is plagued by a relentless nightmare that haunts him without reprieve. But the unexpected occurs when Yumeji's nightmares escalate and encroach upon his waking hours, blurring the boundaries between dreams and reality. Unbeknownst to him, a malevolent dream demon seizes this opportunity to invade his world, seeking to exploit his vulnerable psyche as a gateway into the physical realm. However, in a fortunate twist of fate, a courageous and enigmatic dream demon named Merry Nightmare appears, determined to thwart the malevolent entity and regain her own realm without the aid of a host. Amidst the relentless onslaught of dream demons penetrating the fabric of reality, Yumeji and Merry forge an unlikely alliance, vowing to battle the encroaching forces before the menacing nightmares transform into tangible horrors that could defy imagination. The talented director, Shigeyasu Yamauchi, openly shared his regret about how the anime adaptation unfolded during an official talk session, leaving fans intrigued.
