About Tokyo Mew Mew

If you still want to learn more from the anime of the song NONBIRI DREAMIN', don't miss this information about Tokyo Mew Mew:

Tokyo Mew Mew (Japanese:, Hepburn: Tky My My My) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Reiko Yoshida. From September 2000 to February 2003, it was serialized in Kodansha's shjo manga magazine Nakayoshi, with chapters collected in seven tankbon volumes by Kodansha. It follows five girls who are infused with the DNA of endangered animals, giving them special abilities and the ability to transform into "Mew Mews." The girls, led by Ichigo Momomiya, defend the planet from aliens who want to "reclaim" it. TV Aichi, We've Inc., Tokyu Agency, and Studio Pierrot adapted the series into a 52-episode anime series. It premiered on both TV Aichi and TV Tokyo on February 3, 2002, with the final episode airing on March 29, 2003. Tokyo Mew Mew à la Mode, a two-volume sequel to the manga, was serialized in Nakayoshi from February 2002 to January 2003. While Ichigo (meaning "Strawberry") is on a trip to England, the sequel introduces a new Mew Mew, Berry Shirayuki (meaning "White Snow Berry"), who becomes the Mew Mews' temporary leader. A puzzle adventure game for the Game Boy Advance system and a role-playing video game for the PlayStation were also made for the series. Tokyopop licensed the manga series for English-language publication in North America and released both the original and sequel, with Kodansha Comics planning to re-publish the series in September 2011 with a new translation. The anime series Mew Mew Power was licensed by 4Kids Entertainment for North American broadcast. Mew Mew Power aired on 4Kids TV in the United States and 26 episodes on YTV in Canada, both heavily edited and dubbed. The remaining 26 episodes of the series were not licensed, so 4Kids Entertainment was unable to complete the broadcast. The series has never been released on home video. Several volumes of the manga series were well received by English-language readers, and several volumes of the manga series appeared in the Top 50 graphic novel sales lists in their respective months of release. The manga was praised by critics as a charming and entertaining series with a free-flowing style and unique character designs. à la mode was praised for being a good continuation of the series, but it was panned for not offering anything new. While airing in Japan, the anime adaptation received high ratings, resulting in a slew of marketing tie-ins. Despite criticism for extensive editing that removed the majority of the Japanese elements, the Mew Mew Power dub became the most popular 4Kids show during its run. Instead of the original Japanese series, it was licensed for regional release in a number of other countries. Tokyo Mew Mew 2020 Re-Turn, a two-chapter sequel released in 2020, includes all of the main characters with updated designs. A spinoff, Tokyo Mew Mew Olé!, was also released, featuring a new team of male Mew Mews. Tokyo Mew Mew New, a new anime television series adaptation, is set to premiere in 2022.
