Argument

One fateful summer night in the year 2006, the lives of the Nanba brothers took an astonishing turn. Younger brother Hibito set his sights on the Moon, while Mutta, the elder of the two, held an unyielding belief that he should venture even farther, towards the captivating planet of Mars. Fast forward to the present, and Mutta finds himself standing at a crossroads, facing the realities of a life that has unfolded in unexpected ways. With diligence and determination, he has carved out a career in an automotive company, diligently performing his duties. Meanwhile, his younger brother Hibito is on the brink of realizing his childhood dream, poised to become the first Japanese man to set foot on the Moon. Yet, amidst the twists and turns of fate, an unforeseen twist presents itself to Mutta when he unexpectedly loses his job. Seemingly out of the blue, an extraordinary opportunity presents itself to Mutta – a chance to catch up to his younger brother's astronomical achievements. The prestigious Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency, known as JAXA, extends an invitation to Mutta, accepting his application to partake in the next round of astronaut selection. Despite grappling with self-doubts about his own prospects, Mutta refuses to let this once-in-a-lifetime chance slip through his fingers. Determined not to squander this golden opportunity, he embarks on a courageous and formidable journey to honor the promise made with his brother nearly two decades ago.
